Dear Soccer Coaches,

The Lutherville-Timonium Recreation Council Soccer Program is pleased to announce the 9th Annual "COUNTY CUP CLASSIC" Youth Soccer Tournament, The Premier Pre-Season Tournament for the greater Baltimore Area.

We look forward to welcoming back many teams from prior years as well as many new teams to our tournament.  All of the games will be played on high quality fields in and around the Lutherville-Timonium area of Baltimore County including the new Turf Field at Seminary Park.

Competition is open to all Club, Recreation Travel, and C.Y.O. teams at both the "A" and "B" levels. The tournament dates are August 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, 2008. Please check our website at www.ltrcsoccer.org  for information on the tournament and how to register.

The attached pages contain all of the necessary information you need to sign up for the tournament.

2008 COUNTY CUP CLASSIC SOCCER TOURNAMENT

Tournament Information

Divisions and Eligible Teams:

Boys Divisions:

  • Boys Under-8 – Open to all U-8 Teams
  • Boys Under-10 Gold – Open to all U-10 or U-9 Teams
  • Boys Under-10 Silver – Open to all U-10-B or U-9 Teams
  • Boys Under-12 Gold – Open to all U-12 or U-11 Teams
  • Boys Under-12 Silver – Open to all U-12-B or U-11 Teams
  • Boys Under-14 Gold – Open to all U-14 or U-13 Teams
  • Boys Under-14 Silver – Open to all U-14-B or U-13 Team

Girls Divisions:

  • Girls Under-8 – Open to all U-8 Teams
  • Girls Under-10 Gold – Open to all U-10 or U-9 Teams
  • Girls Under-10 Silver – Open to all U-10-B or U-9 Teams
  • Girls Under-12 Gold – Open to all U-12 or U-11 Teams
  • Girls Under-12 Silver – Open to all U-12-B or U-11 Teams
  • Girls Under-14 Gold – Open to all U-14 or U-13 Teams
  • Girls Under-14 Silver – Open to all U-14-B or U-13 Team

Tournament Format:

  • Each Team will play a minimum of 3 Games
  • Under-8 Divisions – Play 8v8; two-25 Minute Halves.
  • Under-10 Divisions – Play 8v8; two-25 Minute Halves.
  • Under-12 Divisions – Play 8v8 (also 11v11 if enough registration); two-25 Minute Halves
  • Under-14 Divisions – Play 11v11; two-25 Minute Halves

Player Eligibility:

  • A Player's age as of 8/1/2008 shall be used to determine Player eligibility.
  • Coaches should carry birth certificates or ID cards for each player in the event a rostered player's eligibility is questioned.
  • Players may not play for more than one team or in more than one age bracket.
  • Any team using ineligible players will forfeit any games in which the ineligible players participated.
  • Completed rosters must be turned into tournament headquarters at Ridgely Middle School prior to playing your first game.

Team Application, Fees and Acceptance:

  • Applications – Teams can sign up on-line at www.ltrcsoccer.org, then click on Entry Applications under the County Cup Classic heading (the on-line application is currently being updated and should be operational shortly) ; or they can print out an Application and mail it in to:

  • Tournament Fees:
    • Tournament Fees must be submitted with completed Application.  Any Application received without payment will not be processed.  Checks will not be processed unless the team has been accepted.
    • $260 per Team for all Applications submitted before July 21, 2008
    • $285 per Team for all Applications submitted after July 21, 2008
    • U-8 Teams are ONLY $160 per Team.
    • Fees do NOT include Referee Fees (see below for referee fee information)
  • Team Acceptance:
    • Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis. It is the goal of the tournament committee to accommodate every team that applies.
    • Space is limited within each division due to field availability.
    • Accepted Teams will be notified by the Tournament Committee.
    • Once a Team is accepted into the Tournament, no refunds will be possible.

Trophies:

  • Perpetual Cup Trophy – Each divisional winner of the "County Cup Classic" will be awarded the team Perpetual Cup Trophy to commemorate their victory. This trophy remains with the winning team during their reign as Cup winners. (Perpetual Cup Trophies must be returned for the following year's tournament and remains the property of LTRC Soccer.)
  • Divisions Playing 8v8 – Will be awarded 14 individual player trophies.
  • Divisions Playing 11v11 – Will be awarded 18 individual player trophies.

Schedules, Rules, and Inclement Weather:

  • Schedules – The Tournament Committee will post all schedules on the LTRC website (www.ltrcsoccer.org) approximately ten days prior to the tournament.
  • Rules & Roster Forms:
    • Rules – A complete set of Tournament Rules including how playoff teams are determined will be mailed to the Team once it has been accepted.  Each coach should review the rules.
    • Roster Forms – Roster forms will be mailed to the Teams once they have been accepted.
  • Inclement Weather:
    • Any changes or cancellations due to inclement weather will be posted on the website (www.ltrcsoccer.org).
    • Make-Up Dates are August 29th, 30th, and 31st.

Referee Fees:

  • All Referee Fees are to be paid on the Field to the Referee prior to the start of the game.  Amounts are subject to change.
  • Under-8 Divisions – One Referee, $19.00 per Team
  • Under-10 Divisions – Two Referees, $29.00 per Team
  • Under-12 Divisions – Two Referees, $30.00 per Team
  • Under-14 Divisions – Two Referees, $32.00 per Team
