Soccer Day 2024
The Basics
Soccer Day Basics
Soccer Day (Saturday, September 7th) is the kick-off of our Fall 2024 In-House Soccer season!
What to expect:
- All games will be played at Ridgely Middle School.
- Arrive early. Parking gets tricky throughout the day, and it may take longer to find a spot. Please be considerate of all neighbors and do NOT block any driveways (or part of a driveway - or things that vaguely resemble a driveway).
- Bring your patience – we will have approximately 120 teams and over 1,400 participants and families at Ridgely Middle School over the course of the day.
- As much as we love dogs – please let them at home.
- Kids should come dressed in their uniforms (if they have them) or arrive early enough to get uniforms from their coach and change before pictures and games.
- We will have some light snacks and drinks available for purchase – but no food vendors.
- These will be real games for the kids. Games will start exactly at the stated times (we will blow a horn) so teams need to be ready to go. There will be no time for warm-ups on the field. Teams MUST be ready to go at the designated time. They also need to clear the field immediately after the conclusion of the game. Team meetings/debriefs can be held in an area off the fields.
- Most U10 teams will be playing on the 7v7 fields on Soccer Day only. This means that coaches should expect to play 7v7 or, at most, 8v8 on Soccer Day. After Soccer Day – U10 will move back to their normal 9v9 format.
- U14 games will be 25-minute halves on Soccer Day to meet the schedule. They will move to regular 30-minute halves for games starting 9/16.
